The feeling never sets in right,
Incomplete even when it’s whole.
The sun never before shone so bright,
Nor did the tears smudge the kohl.
Lonesome heart wanders in search,
Finds no one and returns by night.
Alas! A soul came in to perch,
Had lost its love out of sight.
Elated heart established this was the one,
Wanted to look no further now.
It knew whatever had to be done,
To fix the retired soul and how.
There was plenty of love to share,
The heart felt alive for the first time now.
Gave it every inch, served itself bare,
Without inhibitions or fear to ever bow.
Waited to receive a full heart in return,
Hopelessly wished to witness magic.
Sadly, no strong magic could turn,
A soul only indifferent and tragic.
Yet learns never from the past,
Cold souls cannot be rectified.
A heart that only knows to love and last,
Knows nothing about being petrified.
